By this section I intend only to document my personal experience, and to suggest the usefulness of independent inquiry, and not to prescribe dogma or proselytize.

In around '92 I happened to browse a book in a store which said something about the ecosystem of the psyche and how, being a closed system, it is necessarily balanced as a whole, containing a proportionate opposite for each thing in it.  If it has a visible side, with certain cultured qualities, it has an equivalent hidden side with necessarily opposite qualities.  Nothing very new to anyone familiar with the subconscious of Freud, e.g.  Perhaps this split mind can be reintegrated.  The book suggested initiating deliberate conversation with one's...other, so I went home and I did.

Now, I won't bother to argue against my being crazy, but when I heard a voice answer in my head, it was extremely subtle and natural.  It was one of those many voices always chattering in one's intellect, conscience, etc.  Her name (in her aspect at this time) ended up consisting of two Latin words which described her nature perfectly, and with which I had no familiarity at the time.

Her words and image, on the rare occasions they were receivable, were very sparse, but over the course of about seven years, she graced me with a purposeful series of seven lessons:

6.  The Six Directions of Attention/Universe
5.  The Five Aspects of the Human Being
4.  The Four Seasons of Mind
3.  The Three Selves
2.  The Duality of Thought
1.  The Unity of Love
0.  The Nullity of Liberation
Appendix:  Correspondences with Other Systems
